Re: Sample Rate Error Message

Do you also have the USB device set to 16 bit 44100 Hz (CD Quality) in the "Sounds" section of the Windows Control Panel?
Have you tried it connected to a different USB port?
You've not got it connected via a USB hub?

Re: Strengthening vocal recordings

Do i just use the default settings on the compressor? That would be a good place to start - try it out and if you don't like the result, use "Undo" from the "Edit" menu (or Ctrl+Z) and try adjusting the settings. The manual page for the compressor is here: http://manual.audacity...

Re: Clean old cassette audio

The original recording is at a very low level. If you record it louder, that may help. Aim for a peak recording level of about half the track height. (Note - step 3 is not strictly necessary, but I find that it helps me see wh...

If sound is currently working with Audacity 1.3.12, leave it as it is.
If you're having problems with sound, get back to us with details of what the problem is.

Re: NEED HELP TO EXTEND SINGLE NOTE WITHOUT CLICKS

Click on "Edit" at the top of the main Audacity window. "Amplify" should be up at the top of the list, immediately after "Repeat Last Effect".
If you have a lot of plug-ins installed, or are working on a very small screen, you may need to scroll up the list of effects.
