What effects that used to be where?

Which version of Audacity do you now have?

No it doesn't matter. The silence just needs to start at the beginning.

Step 2 should look something like this:

Re: Advanced voice isolation

Voice isolation is notoriously difficult. It's like trying to extract a banana from a banana milk shake. This sample has been produce by using the "Vocal Removal" effect in Audacity 1.3.13, then using the result as a noise profile in the Noise Removal effect, and applied to the original au...

Re: Vibrato Nyquist script

So it must have been a fluke. You may have missed some of the header information the first time that you did it and left Audacity not knowing what it had done :) I did try earlier today changing the default settings, plus I tried having a "mid-speed" control. However, when I set it to som...

Re: Clean old cassette audio

You can probably ignore the differences at the extreme high and low frequency ends as I probably filtered it more aggressively than you did (particularly the low frequencies). But, yes, less artefacts than the stock NR. Enough to warrant a 20% increase in processing time?

It's a really bad idea to post your e-mail address on a public forum, unless you like spam. I've disguised your address a bit to make it less obvious to spambots.

Look near the bottom of the main Audacity window and de-select "Snap To".

Re: New plug-in effect - PopMute

It seems that Audacity has lost track of where the data is in the track. Were all of these observations from the same Audacity Proj...

Using a similar method to Bill, but using Audacity's Noise Removal with the modification described here: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 29#p137147

Re: newbie question about distortion problems

You could try going into the Windows Control Panel, and in the "Sound" section, go to the "Recording" tab, right click on the USB device, and locate the recording level setting in the "Preferences". Turn down the recording level there to a really low level, then try rec...
