Re: no recording device (I have device enabled already)

I've got a good idea of what the problem is, but I'm not sure where the relevant setting will be or exactly what it will be called. Could you post a screenshot of the "Advanced" tab of that first image.

Re: Bit and Sampling rates - Real or Imagined?

I've only used them with Windows XP. They have been very good and reliable. They use RCA (phono) connectors, which are far preferable to mini-jack. I can't really say a lot more about them - I installed them, then heard no more about them (which is a good thing - I would have heard if there had been...

Re: Guitar Amp to Computer Hum

Do you get a hum from the amp (more than is normal) with nothing plugged into it other than the power cord?

Re: no recording device (I have device enabled already)

The first thing to check is the microphone plug and lead and check that it is plugged in securely. If the computer has more than one microphone input, try the other input. If available, try another microphone. Another possibility is that Windows may have updated the sound card drivers to new ones t...

Re: export in mp3 -- lame.exe has stopped working

how do I get it to use lame_enc.dll? it has defaulted to using lame.exe since i first started using audacity back in '07!! I'm aware that some versions of Lame for Audacity have included both the lame_enc.dll and lame.exe, but for normal exporting of MP3 files Audacity uses the lame_enc.dll and not...

Re: Regular Interval Labels enhancements

Good catch jsherk.
It would have been easier to just disallow negative start numbers, but I kind of like it as an "unofficial bonus feature", so here's the fixed version

Re: export in mp3 -- lame.exe has stopped working

Audacity should not be using lame.exe, it should be using lame_enc.dll. See here for how to install lame. Follow the instructions to the letter and it should get MP3 export working. http://audacityteam.org/help/faq?s=install&i=lame-mp3 By the way, did you manage to resolve the other problem? htt...

Re: Regular Interval Labels enhancements

Thanks for testing it. Yes I'm aware that it can start numbering from a negative number, but it does not cause a problem, so I think that users should be allowed to do that if they want to. Someone may want to make 10 equal interval labels that go: track-10, track-09, track-08,.... track-01. I've on...
