Re: Laming problem in 1.3 beta

I just want to be absolutely clear in my mind about this before trying anything more radical:

Even now, Preference > Library shows: "Mp3 export library not found"?
but the audacity.cfg file says:
MP3LibPath=C:\Program Files\Audacity 1.3 Beta (Unicode)\lame_enc.dll

Re: Removing background noise while retaining foreground voc

Separating multiple voices from a single mono recording is virtually impossible. What you are able to do (quite easily) is to remove sounds that are lower or higher in frequency that the voice that you are listening to. Note, this will not remove other voices because the frequency ranges of voices a...

Do you mean, when you "record" an LP (vinyl)?
How are you recording it? Extensive details will cut down the number of questions that need to be asked.

Equal Loudness normalizing

It's a common question of how to "Normalise" (Normalize) tracks so that they sound the same loudness. There are a couple of solutions that have been developed for portable music players, namely " Replay Gain " and iTunes " Sound Check ", but to date there has been nothi...

Re: Merge Mp3s together??

Use the "Time Shift" tool (double headed arrow <-->) to drag each track left/right so that they are in the correct order. Optional: you could also create a cross-fade from one track to the next by using the Fade-in/Fade-out effect on the ends of the tracks, then overlap the tracks a bit li...

Re: Batch Processing

A Silly WIn7 issue. Sounds like it. Media player libraries will generally list titles from a database - these are not the actual files, just an "index" of the files. Consequently trying to access files from the library will often cause unpredictable results in other applications. I don't ...

Re: 1.3.13, XP, no stereo record/playback?

Imported wav files can playback in stereo in Audacity, if that helps? That's good, but it seems that problem is with recording rather than playback. I'm not very familiar with Windows Professional, but it may be worth poking around in the Windows Control Panel to check that there is not a mono/ster...

Re: 1.3.13, XP, no stereo record/playback?

It could be a sound card driver problem. Could you check to see if there is an updated sound card driver available for your computer (see here for guidance: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Updating_Sound_Device_Drivers ) Note that the drivers must be specific to the particular model of your comput...

Re: Track Separation

All the Tracks were saved as individual WAV files. I expected to see a folder with the individual files inside. How could I achieve this? In the "Export Multiple" dialogue you can select where you want the files to be exported to. If you want them in a separate folder, create an empty fol...
