Re: Audacity stops recording after few seconds
It bypasses the 6 second limit. There is no "6 second limit". If Audacity stops recording after 6 seconds, then there's something wrong with your set up, it's not a fault in Audacity. You should fix the fault rather than suggesting ways to work round it. I have windows 7, have tried both ...

Re: Noise with very low sound music
I don't hear any "wind like noise". How are you listening to it?Soldado266 wrote:The problem is that when I decrease the amplitude to really low, there is an annoying wind like noise exactly when the instruments are playing.

What format are the files?

Check in your sound cards' control panel/mixer that you have not muted it or dropped the recording level down to zero.

Re: How to create a multi track
You do not need to "make a track" before you start recording. When you press the Record button a new track will automatically be created. To hear the first track while recording the second, you should have these options near the bottom of the "Transport" menu: Software Playthroug...

Re: preference of the silence maker
You mean "Generate > Silence"? The default length of the Silence generator is hard coded into Audacity. Unless you modify the Audacity source code and build your own copy of the program this cannot be changed. However, there may be a suitable workaround - what exactly are you doing and why...

Re: Noise with very low sound music
I think we are going to need to hear the problem. Could you post a couple of short examples (just a couple of seconds) of (a) the original music, (b) the low level music that demonstrates the noise. Short samples can be uploaded directly to the forum (see "Upload Attachment" below the mess...

Why is it impossible?

Re: Guitar Amp to Computer Hum
Yes. Having done this test using three different guitar leads, the result does produce the following: Plugging in (but not touching the end) produces a very, very slight hum - about 5% of the hum volume that is noted when touching the end. I'm assuming this is just lead quality as each of the three...

Re: Fresh Fish with some Question.
"Reverb" is short for "reverberation". It's an effect that simulates the effect of sound bouncing around in the room - for example, a tiled bathroom is more reverberant than a bedroom with soft furnishings, carpet and curtains. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reverberation "Dou...
