Re: How to reuse code of noise removal in audacity
it's just a simple project that mainly deal with audio. I guessed that much ;) I was wondering if you say a bit more, but any way, what I was thinking was, how about using SoX . Subject to the terms of the GPL license you could include SoX in your application without modification, then pass command...

Re: Audacity tries playback to wrong device while recording
Can't you change that in the Device Toolbar? (or alternatively in "Edit menu > Preferences > Devices")

Re: faulty recording
Your computer is not fast enough to handle playing Spotify and recording at the same time.

Re: File opens as pure noise in Audacity
I though 1.3 was still in beta. Officially, yes it is, but it's a very mature beta - basically, Audacity 1.3.13 will become Audacity 2.0, but the developers want to iron out a few remaining niggles before it is reborn as Audacity 2.0. The last couple of 1.3.x version have been very good and on mode...

Disable the setting "Enable recording multi-streaming" in the MSI RealTek Mixer Toolbox. Put a tick in the "show the following volume controls: Stereo mix". Disable "Software Playthrough". Scroll to the right on the Playback section of the MSI RealTek Mixer until you se...

If I listen to a CD recording of an 80 piece orchestra with a choir of 120 singers, how many sounds are playing?

Yes please do - that sounds very weird.Qomindtor wrote:I hope the problem is clear, if not I'd be happy to explain some more.
How (exactly) did you record the mix? What equipment were you playing the DJ set on and how did you set up the equipment to record the set?
Too much detail is better than not enough.

Re: Sudden failure to record
See if you can record anything with Windows Sound Recorder. This is a really simple program and it will determine if the problem is with your computer/sound card settings, or with Audacity.

Re: File opens as pure noise in Audacity
There may be a problem in the old 1.2.x version with 24-bit WAV files. Try upgrading to Audacity 1.3.13. You can get it here: http://audacityteam.org/download/ You do not need to uninstall 1.2.6, but you can't run both versions at the same time. Audacity 1.3.13 can open projects that have been creat...

Re: Physically how many sounds can be played simultaneously?
The number of "audio tracks" that Audacity can handle depends on the capability of the computer that it is running on. My old Pentium II 500 can handle about 10 stereo tracks simultaneously. My 2 GH laptop can handle over 50 (never needed more than that). If you reach the limit of how many...
