Re: Mic/Stero mix input

It is very common for modern versions of Windows to hide any inputs that are not currently being used. If the input is hidden by Windows, then Audacity will probably not be able to see it. Re: Help! Need same sound quality for two different clips...

Which version of Audacity are you using? (look in "Help menu > About Audacity")

Try this experiment:
1) Record the first track
2) Mute the first track
3) Record a second track.

Re: Selection accuracy, lengths in 10ths of a milisecond?

See here for the basics of digital audio: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_audio The sample period is the smallest unit of time in digital audio. If the sample rate of the audio is 44100 Hz, then that means that there are 44100 sample values each second. If you zoom in close enough on an audio t...

How have you plugged those into the big 3 pin "XLR" microphone inputs on the MultiMix?

Re: 10 minute limit on MP3 Files exported from Audacity .aup

There's no built in limit.
Have you run out of disk space?
How exactly (step by step) are you exporting the MP3?

Re: Raw voltage data output from the sound-card?

You need to convert the "Y" data into a sequence of (raw data) bytes.
What is the range of "Y" values that you have? (maximum and minimum)

Re: Raw voltage data output from the sound-card?

It does not have to be 16-bit integer data - that was an example.
When you import as RAW, there are quite a few options for the number format - click on the "Encoding" drop down to see the list.
What is your current format (Y scale)?

Re: Can't install Audacity 1.3.x

Download the Audacity installer to your desktop, then run it as the Administrator.
I've got to go now, but there's some Windows 7 specific information here: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Windows_7_OS

Re: CRASH on attempting to record with 1.3.13

Unfortunately that does not tell us a great deal.
In Audacity 1.3.13, try setting the Recording and Playback devices to "Microsoft Sound Mapper", this will set Audacity to use your computers' default configuration.
