Re: reverse effect guitar

"Sweep" is another multi-purpose tool. It is not related to Audacity. If you want details of an effect that is included in Sweep you would probably be better to ask them. http://www.metadecks.org/software/sweep/lists.html

Re: Dumb question from complete novice

ver. 1.2.6, with Vista Home Premium SP2 The recommended version of Audacity for Vista is Audacity 1.3.13. Audacity 1.2. is too old and has known problems on modern operating systems. http://audacityteam.org/download/ Each recording has a .aup file and a data file; I don't know if they need to go in...

Re: Subliminal Messages

Could I put nature sounds, theta waves, ect. over the top of the recorded subliminals? Yes, you can mix any sounds together that you want to. The method for doing so is the same as putting a spoken voice and background music together, or mixing any sounds. http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Creating...

Re: UI quirks on 1.3.13

Moving tracks up/down on the screen, Be careful doing that. There's a bit of a bug in Audacity 1.3.13 when dragging tracks up/down. If you regularly drag tracks vertically it may be worth trying the Nightly version of Audacity (that bug is now believed to be fixed) http://wiki.audacityteam.org/inde...

People usually mean "I never had this problem on Windows XP". Is that what you mean, or are you still using the same computer with the same Windows version?

Re: Recording a telephone conversation on skype

Trying to record Skype with Audacity ranges from difficult to impossible (depending on the hardware and operating system). There's several specialised programs designed to do the job more efficiently, more effectively and more easily than Audacity can. I'm not aware of any good free programs to do i...

Re: How to record for desktop, for a dummie

Windows 7 is a lot less friendly about recording than the old XP (one of the reasons that I stopped using Windows at home).

What exactly do you mean? Are you wanting to record sounds that are playing on your computer (for example, streaming audio from the Internet)?

Re: exporting mp3 but loose the low level bass

"Preset: Standard" is recommended for reasonably good quality stereo music (same as VBR "V2")
