Re: exported wav files corrupt
Forum post doesn't like me uploading a wav file. Small WAV files (less than 6 seconds play time) should upload to the forum without problem. Alternatively you could use "sendspace.com" (free to use (up to 300 MB) and you don't need to register to use it). Saving regularly is a good idea. ...

Re: volume control in recording is grey (inactive)
You've probably not found it yet, but there's a bug in Audacity 1.3.10 which can cut off the end of tracks when you Export them. This has been fixed now so I would highly recommend that you update to Audacity 1.3.13. You can get it here and install it over the top of your current version: http://aud...

Re: Audacity randomly deleting some of my audio
I have recently moved the whole folder where I keep the sub-folders with my different Audacity projects, but I didn't think it would be a problem, since the aup file was still in a folder with all the external files belonging to that project--I mean, their relative locations are the same. That's pr...

Re: trying to evidence a beat i want to cut, but doesnt work
I want to begin to cut the beats, but it doesnt work... it starts to reproduce sound, instead, but doesnt stay still in order to make possible to frame and then cut the clip... Click on the audio track itself and not on the time ruler at the top. anyway, it's a great tool...when I understand a litt...

Re: exported wav files corrupt
Great, that explains the problem. That file is not an audio (WAV) file, it's part of an "Audacity Project". There's 2 parts to an Audacity Project, there's the audio data (often in the _data folder) and there's a small .AUP file that tells Audacity what to do with all of the bits of data. ...

Re: exported wav files corrupt
Strange how Windows Media Player can play songs Nero says are corrupt. It's probably not corrupt, but just in a format that Nero doesn't understand. That's why I'd like to have a look at a sample file so I can see exactly what format it is. Could you try uploading that sample file somewhere else (f...

You tried what?toastytraxx wrote:I tried that and I am still getting the same problem
There were two tests. What exactly happened? Did you follow the test steps as described? I can't help if you don't say exactly what you are doing and what is happening.
Re: Vocals
Actual "sound quality" depends more on the hardware (microphone, sound card, recording space...) than on the software. The 1.3.13 has a lot more useful features for "producing" the recording than the old 1.2.6 version. 1.3.13 is also generally more stable on modern computers. I t...

Re: exported wav files corrupt
Thank you for such a detailed post. It makes a refreshing change :P For modern computers you should really be using the latest version of Audacity (currently 1.3.13), but let's see if we can sort this problem out first, then we can look at upgrading later. Could you make a test recording, just a few...
