Re: Export older ID3 tags from audacity?

Is there any way you can set audacity up to export mp3s using an ID3.23 tag? Not that I know of, but apparently (I've not actually tried this myself) you can use Foobar2000 to convert (rewrite) ID3 tags. In Foobar2000 you will need to set "ID3v2 Writer Compatibility Mode" (under Preferenc...

Fastrack Pro USB soundcard and when in playback after a little while the sound starts to get chopped up. Sounds a little like a USB bus problem in win 7 Yes it could be a little USB ...

Re: Staticy Podcast

A short audio sample to demonstrate the issue would be helpful. Just a couple of seconds in WAV format.

Re: mp3 options and mono

I have a source mono .wav file, and exporting it to mp3 (128 kbit cbr), selecting stereo, it actually makes the output file stereo, If the pan position for the mono track is dead centre (ie you have not adjusted the pan position from its default central position) then the exported MP3 will be mono....

Re: After all of this - no sound output

OK tried a disciplined approach to troubleshooting this problem as follows: Step 1: Verify sound output - started WMP, played both a WAV and MP3 file - normal audio output. Double check - went to YouTube -played Clapton/Knoplfer version of "Money for Nothing" both video and audio fine. St...

Re: New/improved plug-ins for potential inclusion in Audacit

Narrow-band carriers like "triangle" and "squarewave" as single carriers (like in the "Vocoder") make not much sense, It may not make much sense against the original purpose of a vocoder, but the "vocoder effect" was hijacked by music makers back in the late ...

Re: Song Mixing

First, read this: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Audacity_Projects (this will help you to avoid many of the most frequent pitfalls) Then look at the Tutorials (link at top of page, or directly below my post). The basic method is: 1) Import files to create Audacity tracks 2) Drag files left/right...

Re: Messed Up Vinyl

MAD decoder is required to decode MP3 files. You could use your favourite MP3 decoder program to convert the MP3s to WAV, then use SoX on the WAV files. I know it's an extra step, but probably quicker than sorting out why libmad isn't loading.

Re: Trying to pass a cassette to CD

Go to "Windows Control Panel > Sounds" and in the Recording section, check to see if the Line input is enabled. There's some information about the Windows Control Panel settings here, but you need to select the "Line" input device, not the "Stereo Mix" input device: htt...
