Re: Good Gverb settings for song vocals?
surely I did something wrong, or probably have misunderstood the purpose of it??? The latter :P It was just intended as an "experiment" or "demonstration" of the fact that the "peak amplitude" (maximum vertical height) of a waveform is not the only factor in determinin...

Re: overlap tunes
Import the two tunes. They will appear one above the other (totally overlapping). Use the "Time Shift" tool (look for a button with a double headed arrow <-->) to slide one of the tunes to the right to where you want it. Then Export from Audacity to create a new audio file.

Re: Good Gverb settings for song vocals?
With the GVerb settings that I posted, the peak level should remain about the same, but may be a little higher or lower than the original. It's normal that it's not exactly the same. If the peak output level is much too low you can always use the Amplify effect again. how come that even if the sound...

Re: New/improved plug-ins for potential inclusion in Audacit
If I use e.g. a single Nyquist "osc" as a carrier for both stereo bands I get memory problems (don't ask me why), while if I use two phase-synchronized "osc"s as two carriers, one for each stereo band, I do not get memory problems. OK, I'll not ask why ;) but am I right in think...

Re: album song id
Export each song as a separate file.
If you want to split one long (full album) file into separate songs, see here: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Split ... ate_tracks

Re: record on and needle sticks
I really like Audacity 1.2. 1.3 isn't as convenient to navigate, That's just a matter of familiarity. After a week of using Audacity 1.3.13 you'll be wondering why some of the features in 1.2 were hidden away in such inconvenient places. all reports are that it isn't complete and still needs a lot ...

Re: Audacity Back-Ward Version?
How about putting Audacity 1.3.13 onto a USB stick as a "portable application" then you can run your project in Audacity 1.3.13 on any Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7 computer that has a USB socket. To make Audacity 1.3.13 "portable": 1) Download the ZIP version of Audacity from here htt...
