Re: i will pay someone to get white noise out!
In order to use effects, the audio that you will be applying the effect to must be "selected". What I suggest that you do at this point is to put the current job to one side, and have a bit of practice to get used to Audacity. Find a small audio file to practice with, and work through this...

Re: Nyquist plugin - Binaural Beats problem
The final field is "Tone to surf volume ratio [percent]" If that is set to 0 then all you will get is the "surf" noise. If you want the "beat tones" without the "surf noise", set the last slider to 100%. The second input is "Right channel beat frequency1 ...

Re: i will pay someone to get white noise out!
Let's keep to one thing at a time. You need to find the actual audio file on your computer, not just the listing in iTunes. I don't use iTunes, so I don't know how you find where the actual file is - perhaps right click on the iTunes listing and select "Properties"? You may need to Google ...

Re: Recording dropouts which sound like a phaser...
I suspect that it is Windows applying affects to "enhance" the sound quality. If you're recording via an on-board sound card, check the sound card settings to see if anything such as "Echo Cancellation" or "Noise Reduction" are enabled. Disable all effects. If that does...

We'll try to be more helpful than Microsoft
Try running it in compatibility mode.

Re: editing and combining files
1) Import the files - they will appear one under another. 2) Use the "Time Shift" tool to slide each track left/right so that they follow on one after the other 3) (optional) you could create cross-fades between tracks by overlapping the last few seconds of one track with the first few sec...

Re: question about g-verb
Effects in Audacity (including GVerb) are directly applied and change the audio data. If you decide that you want an effect, but not with the settings that you first used, "Undo" the effect (Ctrl+Z to undo) and re-apply with the new settings. For applying GVerb, I generally prefer to use t...

Re: Draw Tool grid Idea
Another idea would be if you could hold shift or something and select a group of the dots say if I want to move five dots all to the same point. it would save alot of time. I could make a plug-in that will generate a number of samples to a value if that would be useful to you. What the heck, it'll ...

Re: Playback noise when overdubbing!
It's possible that it's an IRQ problem, though why should that occur now when it didn't before? I'd probably look in the Task Manager to see what processes are running and check which can be shut down. Have you had a look to see how much CPU usage and how much disk activity is occurring while you re...

Re: How to record in audacity in windows 7?
If it's already in Audacity you can just copy and paste it, or "Duplicate" the track (Edit menu). http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Edit ... #duplicatetoastytraxx wrote: I am playing something in audacity and want to record it while it is playing.
