Re: Click sound effect in my audio (song)
Could you post a short sample of what you are talking about (there's an "upload attachments" feature below the "compose message" box when you reply). To make a suitable sample, select just 3 or 4 seconds that includes some typical pops, then from the File menu select "Export...

Re: One of 2 mics doesnt work on my Imac but on my Macbook
Some budget electret microphones have zero tolerance for phantom power. (I used to have a cheap SoundLab electret microphone that had this problem). The problem is that the electronics in the microphone are not isolated from DC across the signal/ground connections, and because they are working with ...

Re: Recording dropouts which sound like a phaser...
I don't have dropouts, but recordings of acoustic guitar sound like there's a phaser on there. This is with a single mic on a mono channel, with no effects (that I can find) from my sound card. I've made several tests, making sure it wasn't being caused by moving the guitar, or by my picking hand t...

Re: Wireless mic buzzing loudly. Any ideas?
The first thing that comes to mind is to check that the microphone and receiver are tuned in to the same radio channel.

Re: Windows Registry settings for 1.3.14 Alpha
Try changing the name of "audacity.exe" for the 1.3.14 version. Also, it can be useful to create an empty folder called "Portable Settings" in the same directory as the audacity.exe file. That version of Audacity will then have its own "preference" settings, independent...

Re: Instrumental
Cello and vocals to a great extent occupy the same frequency band. If the "pan position" (where it sounds in terms of left/right of the stereo mix) of both the vocal and the cello are the same or very similar then there's no way of removing one without also removing the other.

Re: Click sound effect in my audio (song)
It's a bit difficult to see precisely without seeing the time scale, but they look like a lot more than "clicks". What are they? What is that noise and where has it come from?

Re: Exporting MP3 takes forever
We're doing our best to talk people away from 1.2 onto 1.3.13. Audacity 1.2. is pretty old now and has not been updated in years (all development work is on the 1.3 series, working toward the new Audacity 2.0 release). Audacity 1.2. has been a great version for a long time, but IMHO it's just too ol...

Re: Cannot remove click
If you zoom in really close on the edit point you will probably find that the waveform on each side of the edit do not match up. firsttrack002.png A common technique for avoiding this problem is to make the edit cuts at " zero crossing points ". There is a feature in the Edit menu that can...
