Re: Draw Tool grid Idea
Selecting samples as a group would be usefull because you could move a group of samples up or down rather than just one at a time. Although it's not quite as "immediate" or "visual", you can do that with the "Amplify" effect. If you prefer to work with linear units rat...

Re: Recording with Multiple USB Mics
Glenn, have you actually tried doing that and got it to work? If so, please could you give full details of what equipment you used, what sort of Mac, what microphones and any other details necessary to make it work. Do as much preparation as possible well in advance of the event.
Ensure that you are thoroughly familiar with the equipment that you will be using.
Watch the recording levels and ensure that you don't record too loud.

Re: issues with audacity on laptop + input via USB

The default Quality setting in Audacity is 32-bit float as this offers highest quality audio processing. whe...

Re: How To Import Audacity Files From Another PC
Provided that there are no dependencies, I think Audacity projects should be compatible with an equivalent version of Audacity on different platforms. There can be problems when using different versions, particularly between ANSI and Unicode versions. I don't have a Mac to test on, so if you try thi...

Re: Killing hard clipping
Clipfix works by cubic spline interpolation over the truncated portion of the waveform. Unfortunately that's about as good as it gets. The correct "solution" is to avoid clipping in the first place.

Re: One of 2 mics doesnt work on my Imac but on my Macbook
but the adaptor that kashshaptu93 posted a link to is a stereo adapter - it has ring, tip, sleeve.kozikowski wrote:All of the magic having to do with microphone "phantom" systems happens on the rings which are missing from this connection. They're shorted out against the shield/sleeve.
