What exactly is the audio that you are exporting to produce these strange silent MP3 files?
The only way I can reproduce these symptoms are by creating corrupt data in the audio track.

Re: Windows Registry settings for 1.3.14 Alpha
I expect that you realise that this is really a "Windows problem" rather than an "Audacity problem". There may be other ways to deal with this issue, but here's my opinion on the question: The way that I would deal with it would be to set one version of Audacity as an "insta...

Re: Help with a audio clip
Mostly just noise with what sounds like it could be an announcement of some kind beneath the noise. According to "CSI" there are special forensic techniques that can bring out the background sounds, but with standard audio processing techniques it's pretty much a lost cause.

Re: Amplify/Fade to Target Level
In comparison to the previous post, this is a more conventional Amplify/Fade effect. Just like the standard Amplify effect in Audacity the amplify amount is set in dB (+/- 60 dB), but extra to the standard Audacity effect this plug-in can create a fade by setting one amplification amount for the beg...

Re: Killing hard clipping
I don't have a show or anything that I am angry about, I'm just thinking about this in general. I'm pleased about that - I hate it when we have to try and break it to people that their damage recording is irreparable, especially when it is for them a really important recording. Sound engineers go t...

Re: Audacity doesn't see Yamaha MM6
The USB connection on the Yamaha MM6 transfers MIDI data not audio data. MIDI is not audio http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Musical_Instrument_Digital_Interface Audacity can record audio but cannot currently record MIDI data. To record audio (sound) from your MM6 in Audacity you should connect the Left/...

Re: muffled voice
What sort of microphone are you using, where are you recording, what sort of sound card, where is the microphone positioned relative to the person using the microphone, are you recording speech or singing, any other information?
