Nice one DVDdoug. I've just been testing that and it's very impressive on the supplied examples. It didn't cope with heavily distorted analogue clipping, but then nothing does.DVDdoug wrote:There is a (non-free) program called SeeDeDlip.

Re: 16 Bit exports
When I press Tab key it moves to the new peak textbox, not the slider. I couldn't find a way to adjust the slider using the keyboard on the Mac That may be a limitation of WxWidgets on Macs - it may be worth sending a note to the QA list to see if it's a bug or Mac "feature". Is that the ...

Re: Recommend sound card for recording my mixing
Yes you could, but you will probably get best quality if you choose one that has SPDIF input.jodyd wrote:Couldnt I just use a good soundcard inside my pc? say a soundblaster or something

Re: Guitar delay when recording
Turn off "Software Playthrough" (near bottom of the Transport menu).
Select the UCA 202 as the playback device and plug your headphones in there rather than into the computer sound card.

Re: 16 Bit exports
Topic moved to Audacity 1.3.x forum. Yeah, I noticed that Audacity normalizes each side independently. WHY? It depends who you ask. Some say that it's a design feature to automatically correct out of balance stereo tracks. Myself and many others disagree and believe that it is due to an erroneous de...

Dito re. using Audacity 1.3.13
Also, are you aware that Audacity Projects have both the AUP file AND data files? If the data files are missing there will be no sound. See here: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Audacity_Projects

Re: Solo fingerstyle guitar effects
Whichever reverb effect you use, keep a clean unprocessed version of the recording, preferably exported as a 32-bit WAV file. It's very easy to apply too much reverb, but near impossible to remove it later. If you have a nice room to record in, when you get your microphones, try using one mic close ...

Re: Updating Sound Device Drivers
Note that for many sound cards on Windows 7 it is not possible to record from "Stereo Mix" and some workaround must be used. There's nothing we can do about that - if either Microsoft or the hardware manufacturers decide to remove the stereo mix feature, then there's nothing that we can do...
