Re: Digitalfishphones.com PLUG INS w/ Audacity

1) Which step do I do first, 1) bring the line above the 0 in the "draw curve" view and then--- 2) tweak or higher the treble (draw the second pic you posted)?--- or higher the treble first--- and then bring the line above the 0 as an amplification? That's down to your personal preference...

No need to apologise - the developers need people to spot bugs so that they can be fixed - in this case someone else spotted the problem before you did (and fixed it).

Re: Compiling svn11197 fails (autoduck issues)

I've not tested it, but it looks like this has been fixed in r11198. The change in r11197 was that AutoDuck has been modified to validate text input so as to disallow meaningless non-numeric characters in the text boxes. By the way, you posted in the Audacity 1.2.x part of the forum - I'll move it t...

Re: XENYX X2442USB

when we play something through the mixer, the red bars at the top representing input sound recognizes sound coming through, but the actual audio track that shows the recording does not show sound and continues to show a straight thin line. Any suggestions? I suspect that it is working correctly but...

Re: Transferring portions between tracks

but I’m surprised it (or something like it) isn’t included by default. Some of the developers are of the opinion that Effect menu is already too long and are reluctant to add more effects. There are a lot of additional effects available on the Audacity wiki, and you can find the latest version of t...

... be able to save wav files in higher bit rates. Audacity does not "save" WAV files. Audacity only "Saves" Audacity Projects. It's a fine distinction, but one that regularly gets people into trouble - to make a WAV file requires "Exporting" (not "Save"). WA...

Re: adding tap-in intros and click tracks

Assuming that the backing track has a constant tempo: 1) Open Audacity and import the backing track ("File" menu) 2) Play the backing track while looking at a watch that shows seconds and count how many beats there are in 30 seconds. Double that number and you have the number of beats per ...

Re: removing periodic drive spin up noise

Oh I see, the noise is from the hard drive on the mp3 player / recorder. Usually those are pretty quiet. It's always best to try and avoid the noise rather than fixing it later. You've not said what this device is, but if you are using a built in microphone on the device, you may get better results ...

Re: Frustration with Aud 1.3

The current Windows .EXE version of Audacity (the recommended download for Windows) includes the full manual which is the same as the on-line manual. Perhaps you only saw the "Quick Help" and not the full manual? We do as much as possible to draw peoples attention to the comprehensive amou...
