Re: Help with mixing the best from two sources
You are right about the H4 clipping below 0db and I don't know why, I'm not sure about the H4, but on the H2 there are two recording level controls. There is a High/Medium/Low switch that sets the microphone gain (this is the real input level from the microphone), and then there is a recording leve...

Re: Detailed input selection
It is normal for external sound cards (and better quality internal sound cards) to use channel 1 for mono and "channel 1 -> left / channel 2 -> right" for 2 channel recording. That's how the sound card drivers are designed to behave. I found a work-around though, recording a stereo track a...

Re: not well-formed (invalid token) at line 393
It is reproducible by pasting "è" directly into an ANSI encoded .aup file, but I doubt many people are doing that. I agree. The question is as you said (asked) before - how did they get the invalid characters into the project? I don't think that we have an answer to that yet, do we? I've ...

Re: Artifact test
v 1.3.13 uses an alternative time stretching library known as "Subband Sinusoidal Modeling" it says it is several times slower than SoundTouch, but i don't see how with the testresults. Subband Sinusoidal Modeling is used by the effect "Sliding Time Scale/Pitch Shift". This is a...

Is that "working fine"? No, it's a bug that has been fixed.Anathaen wrote: CPU goes up 100% when Audacity is just left open.

Re: Exporting Tracks to be mixed in another DAW
Doh, you're still using the ancient 1.2.x version aren't you.
Do yourself a big favour and upgrade to 1.3.13.
(You can have both versions installed at the same time, but note that Audacity 1.2.x cannot open projects that have been saved by Audacity 1.3.x)
