For the iPod, the quickest and easiest method is to use "Sound Check" which is available in iTunes.
This is similar in effect to ReplayGain which may work on devices that do not support Apples Sound Check.

Re: Ripping Audio from a DVD
Audacity is probably not the best tool for that, though it will probably work for DVDs that are not encrypted. You would need to use Audacity 1.3.13 and also install FFMpeg, then Import the VOB files from the DVD (usually best to copy the VOB files to your hard drive first). Audacity 1.3.13: http://...

Re: Recording from a Digital Piano
Quite ridiculously, there is no way to transfer a recording directly from your Clavinova CLP 340 to your computer. It might sound silly, but that is fairly normal. Very few keyboards provide any direct way to transfer a recording as audio to a computer. I don't use Macs, but I believe that most Mac...

Re: Recording streaming audio
Unfortunately recording streaming audio on Win 7 can be far from simple to describe. So much depends on your sound card and sound card drivers, but there is a page here that gives a lot of information on the issue: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Mixer_Toolbar_Issues#Using_the_Control_Panel If it ...

Re: Audacity hangs when loading MP3
- hangs after start - consumption goes to 100% and stays like that until it's open without any action from the user's side I'm trying to get a clear picture of what problem you are experiencing. I'd love to be able to help you to resolve these issues, but I need to have a clear picture of precisely...

Re: Crashes immediately after opening a WAV file
I know that the website says "latest version", but Audacity 1.2.6 is a very old version (the last of the 1.2.x series) that has not been maintained for about 5 years. Try the 1.3.13 version: http://audacityteam.org/download/

Re: Silent finder "Nyquist did not return audio"
Oh, hello again :D Glad you got back on this. I think the problem is that the file access permissions is set incorrectly on the nyquist.lsp file. I don't use Macs, so I don't know how to view or change file permissions, but that file (and all of those other .lsp files) need to have read permission f...
