Re: Audio Breakup with 1.3.8
Audacity 1.3.13 fixes many bugs that were in 1.3.8, so I'd recommend that you upgrade. Toolbar positions should be automatically remembered by Audacity as long as a) the Toolbars are docked, and b) you are at the same window size. If the sound is "breaking up" on playback then you probably...

Re: Changed project name - am I screwed?
Banging your head is unlikely to help with the current crisis, but may help to avoid the problem in the future ;) Attach the "Lame attempt.aup" file to your reply - don't change anything, don't delete anything and don't move anything. I'll have a look at the file and see if I can see the p...

"Preferences" is not available during Record, Playback or Pause.
Audacity 1.2.x has known problems on Vista. You should upgrade to Audacity 1.3.13.

Re: Oversampling in raw data
It looks like you have bit overflow in your waveform generation.
8-bit data should be in the range − 128 to 127 if signed, or 0 to 255 if unsigned.
Bit overflow occurs if the generated data exceeds the range of values that is supported by the number format.

Re: HELP: I cant uninstall, it says it says it does not exis
Go to "C:Program Files (x86)" and look for the folder "Audacity1.3 Beta (Unicode)". Delete the entire folder. This will leave a small amount of data in your profile. If you want to delete that also, go to: "Users<user name>AppDataRoaming" and delete the "Audacity&q...

Re: Text Envelope
Looking at the dates, the changes should be in 1.3.13 - I've not got a copy installed on this box so I'll check that tomorrow. I've tested this with Audacity 1.3.13 beta Unicode (release version) on Windows XP, and some characters are not supported correctly. In particular, and error is produced if...

Re: Silent subliminal function
I came across the remark that you dn't want to play these subliminals at the hight volume leves, as it would cause Inner Ear Damage. I think that was a remark that I made. "Normal" audio contains only a small amount of very high frequencies relative to other frequencies. A "silent su...
