Re: Changed project name - am I screwed?

Make a copy of both the .AUP file and the _data folder.
Ensure that the file and folder are in the same directory.
Rename the file as: The only one I know.aup
Rename the folder as: The only one I know_data
Cross your fingers and try opening the renamed project with Audacity.

Re: Oversampling in raw data

This is the HEX representation of the start of the file TEST.WAV. That should help narrow down the problem. That is not the hex data of the start of the file TEST.WAV that you posted. This is the Hex output from the file that you posted: TEST.raw - GHex_002.png For an output of the sample data in A...

Re: Mac Audacity Skinable?

Themes are not currently supported, but you are welcome to hack or otherwise experiment with either the current or old versions. Colour scheme support was very quirky, which was one reason why it was dropped. The current Ubuntu release has a usable colour scheme and I would recommend using the offic...

Re: Problem Recording with upgrade to 1.3 Beta

What I was suggesting in "test 2" was that you "Save" and empty project (a ".AUP" file and a "_data" folder are created) and then after the file and folder have been created, start recording. This will cause Audacity to write the audio data directly into the &...

"Appropriate" is "long enough for the translator to speak the translation".
If the gaps are too big, the excess silence can be trimmed out after recording.

Re: New to 1.3

First off, I've never once used 1.3, so I'm wondering if there's anything new I need to be aware of in relation to the questions I asked in http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=14203. That topic meanders across several subjects, so I don't know "which" question you are a...

Re: Append record anywhere a second track

You want the original recording followed immediately by the translation, then back to the next phrase of the original recording... and so on? The way I would do that is to add markers (labels) during the original recording session (CTRL+M, then RETURN) at the end of each phrase. Then select all (CTR...
