Re: Delete a bit - and "pull it back" again, possible?
is there a quick way to "jump" between timecodes? In the Selection Toolbar (bottom of the main window) you can type the desired start time. http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Selection_Toolbar I usually use the mouse wheel with Shift or Ctrl to quickly zoom in/out to the appropriate place...

Re: Delete a bit - and "pull it back" again, possible?
- cut a bit of the end/beginning of a track, continue with a bunch of other things, and later find out, that I need the bit of the track back! - in Cool edit, you could simply "pull" it out again by putting the curser on the beginning/end of the track, hold shift down, and then pull it ou...

Re: New to 1.3
Podcasts are usually best in mono as that allows the file size to be smaller, so faster download for the audience, faster upload for you and less bandwidth for your server. If you Import a stereo audio file, then it will make a stereo audio track in Audacity, regardless of the recording settings. To...

Re: How to detect the raw file type ?
The usual way to determine the correct format for RAW data is to read the documentation of the application that made it. The other common method is trial and error. The big problem with RAW data is that it does not say what format it is - it's just a long sequence of numbers representing the audio d...

Re: T-Bone's SC1100 vs SC140
I think that the SC1100 does sound better, but for the price the SC140 does a highly creditable job. I'd be interested to hear how the SC140 behaves with very close mic positioning (say 10 cm). The exact sweet spot will become very critical when used this close and some bass rolloff requirement is t...

Re: Configuration Challanges 10.04
I've not got a 4-bit machine myself, but try pasting the following into a Terminal window, then copy and paste the output into your reply: cat /etc/lsb-release Plug in your USB microphone and reboot the computer. Open Audacity, and in the "View menu > Toolbars" ensure that "Device&quo...

Re: i cannot get plug ins no matter what i do.
Which version of Windows? Which exact version of Audacity? (look in "Help menu > About Audacity") Exactly which plug-in are you trying to install? Where exactly did you put the plug-in? (full path) Did you set Audacity to rescan for VSTs? See here: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/VST_Plu...
