Please post a short audio sample to demonstrate the problem. Just a few seconds in WAV format (see: viewtopic.php?f=49&t=72887)
(WAV format is important as some important clues about the problem can be hidden by lossy encoding).

The usual way is to "overdub". See: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/tut ... rdubs.html

Re: Using custom theme with macOS?

I'd recommend upgrading to Audacity 2.4.2 https://www.audacityteam.org/download/mac/ The "Theme" folder does not exist by default. You have to create it (in the right location). The folder should be: ~/Library/Application Support/audacity/Theme/ where "~/" means your home folder....

Re: Multi-track in windows

If there were an option to select UTC time for the timestamp in the track title, that'd solve this nicely
Audacity is using "system time". You can change the Windows time zone: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/640 ... -10-a.html

Re: How to close an unwanted channel?

Global conspiracies aside, dropping a stereo audio file (in a supported format) into Audacity has always opened as a stereo (2 channel) audio track. That has never changed in all the time that I've used Audacity (about 15 years).
