The Loudness Normalization effect
Not available in Audacity 2.2.2 (the version of Audacity that is included in Debian Buster), hence my suggestion to use the ReplayGain plug-in.

Re: Fixing volume issues when not speaking into Mic

There's a "Level Speech" plug-in: https://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Nyquist_Effect_Plug-ins#Level_Speech This is a "Nyquist Plug-in". Installation instructions are here: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/installing_effect_generator_and_analyzer_plug_ins_on_windows.html#nyquist...

Re: Audacity Looking for avformat.dll, which does not exist

The current Audacity 2.4.2 should automatically detect "FFmpeg for Audacity" when installed. Audacity 2.4.2 is available via the Audacity website: https://www.audacityteam.org/download/windows/ Installation instructions for "FFmpeg for Audacity": https://manual.audacityteam.org/m...

Re: I need some assistance with volume control

There's two main issues here: 1. Maintaining a fairly constant level within one track / file. 2. Matching the volume of multiple tracks / files to approximately the same level. I have managed to get the output from Audacity to be at a consistent volume by amplifying a negative DB amount for the real...

Re: verson 2.3.1 fails on fedora 32

That "mismatch" looks to me like a build error, so I'm not sure how far we can get with this.

Re: Problem with 8bit signed output with 2.4.2

My follow up post after the previous one was 'disapproved' for some reason. Sorry about that - it looks like one of the moderators misidentified it as a duplicate post (we see a lot of duplicate posts) I found that 2.4.2 has a Tools->Reset Configuration so I tried that and after the reset the singe...

Hi Steve, Is there a way to change the upper end to 8191 Hz?
If you resample the track to 16000 Hz, then the spectrum data will be up to 8000 Hz.

Re: Problem with 8bit signed output with 2.4.2

I exported the first few seconds of the same Audacity project as you requested. Thanks. For future reference, most common audio files (including WAV) can be uploaded to the forum without changing the file extension (providing that the file size isn't to large). "RAW" isn't actually a file...

Re: ASIO Problems on XR18 [SOLVED]

Anyway, I just happened to notice that the Behringer Clock Rate was set to 48kHz (X AIR Edit => Setup => Audio/Midi => Clock Rate). I changed this setting on the XR18 to 44.1kHz, and now I am no longer having any of these difficulties.:D Super, good to hear. If for any reason you actually want to w...
