(but yes that information should still be correct)

Re: laptop

It is unusual for a laptop to have a Line In socket. Usually they only have a Mic In (which is often mono and about 1000 x too sensitive for a line level signal. If your laptop really does have a line in socket then it should be selectable through the Windows Control Panel, or through a pop-up when ...

Re: laptop

How do you want to do that? With a microphone? Plugging them directly into your computer "Line In"? Does your computer have a "Line In" socket? We can only work with the information that you give, and on the 10th post I still have little idea of what equipment you have or how you...

Poor sound quality

If anyone has poor or distorted recorded sound it could be due to connecting to the wrong input on the computer. See http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Tuto ... necting_Up for an explanation of the different coloured audio ports on computers and what they do.

The USB device must be connected and working before you open Audacity.

Re: No host or available devices on 1.3.14 alpha version

Is there any way for me to save my preferences? Yes, they are saved in the file ~/.audacity-data/audacity.cfg In fact, it may be worth just renaming that file (for example audacity.cfg.bak) while Audacity is closed, then run Audacity and see if Host or Devices are available (just in case there's an...

Re: Simple BPM counter

This plug-in was written in response to a request for counting heartbeats . I'm waiting to hear back from that user, but I think it should work quite well for that purpose. For use with music this plug-in is extremely limited as it currently is. To be really useful it would need to have much more so...

Re: Problem Recording
