Try the "Change Speed" effect.
Record yourself talking very slowly, then use "Effect menu > Change Speed" to speed it up.

You will find the Audacity output (playback) settings in "Edit menu > Preferences > Devices".

This is a known problem with Audacity 1.2.x and is the main reason why it is not recommended for Vista or Windows 7.

If you mean that you mixed down multiple tracks into one, then you can do that in Audacity (Tracks menu > Mix and Render)
