Re: Speakers not recognised
Followed instructions, thanks, however [Sorry, cannot write streams to disk]. Open up the "Output Plug-ins" options again, select "Nullsoft Diskwriter v2.xx [out_disk.dll]" and then click the "Configure" button. Check to see what the output file location is, and check ...

Re: Export WAV: disk full? Libsndfile says "garbage_here"
I noticed the same problem when I tried "Save Multiple", but it is actually worse. The save operations completes but the files with the problem are corrupted and very small. There is no notification from Audacity that any problem occurred. It is easy to lose files this way. I was cleaning...

Re: No host or available devices on 1.3.14 alpha version
In "config.log" you have: --disable-alsa This means that Audacity will be built without ALSA support, and is probably the reason that you are not seeing any devices. To do a clean build of Audacity, from inside the Audacity sourcecode directory (audacity-read-only) sudo make uninstall this...

Re: Recording using Beta and Win 7
Thanks for getting back to us with the solution, and pleased you're now up and running Graywolf.
For anyone else looking for solutions to similar issues, there's an article about this in the Audacity wiki: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Updat ... ce_Drivers

Re: Audacity doesn't recognize keyboard
Audacity does not (and has never) recorded MIDI, so I'm unsure how you got it working with your Yamaha Keyboard. The usual way to record a keyboard is to connect a "Line out" or "Aux out" (or at a squeeze the "headphone out") from the keyboard to the "Line in"...

Re: Hype Take-to-mp3 converter
Hi pepemanolo1809, please try to avoid taking shortcuts in your description as the Devil is in the detail. You have selected the one and only USB option as the Recording device in "Edit menu > Preferences > Devices"? When you try to record, do you see a wiggly blue waveform appear and see ...

Re: Perfect tone Fades loss after 4 seconds
It's most likely a combination of your sound card and Windows (I bet you're using Windows). Go into the "Sounds" settings in the Windows Control Panel and turn off all "enhancement" effects for your sound card. Look out specifically for "Echo cancellations", "Noise...

Re: How to "Compact" wav file to fit on a cd
I was hoping that thru the wave of something magical I could shove 5 lbs of stuff into a 4 lb can :D Nice analogy, but heck, if you don't need to worry about standards or compatibility you can squeeze 40 lbs of stuff into a 4 lb can, just compress it at about "quality level 3" as an ogg v...

Re: How to "Compact" wav file to fit on a cd
For a "standard" CD, you can't. The maximum playing time for a standard CD is 79.8 minutes (and maximum 99 tracks) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Book_%28CD_standard%29 For CD-Rs it is less than this, usually around 72 to 74 minutes depending on the CDR that is used, though some high cap...
