Re: Export individual label when multiple labels in project
Audacity supports Unicode but Nyquist doesn't. Nyquist expects characters to be 8 bits. Converting Nyquist to support multi-byte characters would be a very big job. Nyquist is a programming language written by Professor Dannenberg at CMU https://www.cs.cmu.edu/~music/nyquist/ It was designed for wor...

Re: Recording a podcast - beginners questions
For Skype there's a program called "Pamela". Last time I looked they had a free version with limited features.
Zoom has a built-in recorder.
Audacity will probably not be able to record while Skype or Zoom are running as those apps try to take exclusive control of the sound system.

Re: How to get Audacity listed in Explorer dropdown?
"Why is there not a 64-bit version of Audacity?". Is it a big deal to make that conversion? Because we have thousands of 32-bit Windows users and we're not ready to abandon them yet. Switching to 64-bit builds offers only a very little benefit for 64-bit Windows users (most will not notic...

Re: What are the extra labels when Exporting Labels
Those extra parameters are "spectral selections". I have no idea why anyone would want them but this is what they are: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/spectral_selection.html#labels Unfortunately it is not yet possible to turn this feature off. You just have to be aware of it and avoid...

Re: Fade out to background and fade back in
Audacity has a few tools for this kind of thing. 1. The Envelope Tool (though personally I find this tool far too fiddly for more than occasional use) 2. The Adjustable Fade effect: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/adjustable_fade.html I find that the presets in this effect are sufficient in most...

Re: Fixing volume issues when not speaking into Mic
You may want to test on selection that has a mix of loud and quiet ("Ctrl + Z" to undo), then apply to the whole track.
It's not a very sophisticated effect, but it's very easy to use.
