Re: Audacity Is Already Running..
Audacity 1.2 is known to have problems on modern machines. The recommended version is 1.3.13. If you've not done so already, try rebooting your computer, then try launching Audacity. If you still have a problem you may need to reset the Audacity Preferences (see here: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wi...

Could you post the sample somewhere that an account and password is not required for downloading.

Re: Playback Glitch
If you are using Vista or Win 7, ensure that the sound recording "quality" setting in the Windows Control Panel is set to use the same sample rate as Audacity (Edit menu > Preferences > Quality). The recommended sample rates are either 44100 or 48000 Hz.

Re: Trimming almost-silence from the beginning and end of a
OK, here's a way that you can do it. This requires Audacity 1.3 (preferably the latest version) and uses an undocumented and possibly buggy feature so only run this on copies of the files, not the originals, and avoid having other programs open just in case the whole thing crashes. It will not be ve...

Re: Not able to record
Hi pikoger,
You are currently set up to record from your webcam microphone.
Have a look here to see if it is possible to enable "Stereo Mix" recording: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Mixer ... trol_Panel

Re: Stereo Reverb
I presume that you mean that the error message was: "Nyquist did not return audio". I'm curious why this is not working for you. Could you try it again, but instead of pressing the "OK" button, press the "Debug" button. After the initial error message there will be a &q...

Re: Stereo Reverb
Could you be more specific. The Audacity version number can be found in "Help menu > About Audacity" How long is the selection that you are applying the effect to? Are you applying it to one or more tracks? Are you applying it to mono or stereo tracks? What is the exact error message? What...

Re: Stereo Reverb
Are you using Audacity 1.3.13?
What operating system are you using?
Does the effect show up in the Effect menu?
In what way does in not work?

Re: BPM
Listen to the music with a watch or clock that has a second hand.
Count the number of beats in 15 seconds, then multiply by 4.
If you want a more accurate measure of the BPM, count the beats in a whole minute and that is the BPM.

Re: Trimming almost-silence from the beginning and end of a
@Steve, is there a Nyquist plug-in that can trim the start and the end with only the whole track selected - is that what you meant by a patch? Yes that's what I meant. I've got a plug-in somewhere that will trim a set duration (either in seconds, or as a percentage of the track duration) from the s...
