Re: Editing instu. and vocal backing tracks at same time

When you make a selection on one track, you can use the up/down cursor keys to move focus to other tracks. Re: Cannot record

And then it all works :)
but if it doesn't, then that's when you tell us all about your system - what sort of computer, what operating system, what sound card, what you want to record from, what you've done so far and any other details that may help to diagnose the problem.

Re: Recording/Playback

You probably just need a better microphone. Headset microphones are good for keeping the microphone close to your mouth - they should be positioned so that the microphone is close to the corner of the mouth so that you do not blow on it either from your mouth or nose. If you are working in a noisy e...

Re: Distortion problem on piano recording

While recording, disconnect the AC adaptor from the laptop. After a couple of seconds, plug it in again. Stop the recording. My bet is that in th...

Re: Audacity and USB Deck Windows 7

That sample is useful. The problem with that recording is not "clipping distortion" (it's not caused by the recording level being too high), the "distortion" is caused by "breaks" in the audio. If you look at this close-up you can see that the waveform has a break in it...

Re: DC offset when recording

Funny though, if this were a mechanical mixer, I would repair/replace the pre-amp This could turn out to be a hardware fault, but let's checkout the other possibilities first. Can this be continued here or should I repost in another area? Here is fine as long as you are using Audacity 1.2.x on Wind...

Re: Effect Interpolation/Lead In

It's possible to fade-in most types of effect, though the way to achieve it depends on the effect. For example, to gradually increase the amount of reverb on a particular track, make a duplicate of the track and apply the reverb effect to the duplicate (all reverb and no dry signal). You can then us...
