Which exact version of Audacity? (look in "Help about Audacity").
Try searching for ".au" files - these are the data files that should be in the Project data folder.

Re: Recording Troubles
I didn't say anything about using a microphone - you need to record from "Stereo Mix" (may be called "What U Hear").

Re: Low recording volume
Much better than "recording" YouTube is to "download" from YouTube (there are several free plug-ins available for Firefox that will do this. Downloading is both faster and better quality than recording. Once you have downloaded the video you can import (the audio part only) into ...

Re: Audacity Editing Problem when inserting
You've asked quite a lot of questions there, so I'll reply with specific points to try and cover some of the ground quickly. Audacity 1.2.x is very old and no longer recommended. Audacity 1.3.13 is vastly superior and you should upgrade as soon as practical. http://audacityteam.org/download/ All oth...

Re: Problems whilst exporting
when playing through any other audio player it gives me the problem mentioned. That's probably the clue to the problem. First thing to check is that your "other audio player" will play other (known to be good) audio files all the way through (just to check that we're not looking in the to...

Re: Problems whilst exporting
Audacity 1.3.11 is now obsolete, you should update to Audacity 1.3.13 (you can get it here: http://audacityteam.org/download/ ) Do you still have the Audacity Project? If so, does it play all the way through? Do you have enough free hard drive space where you are exporting it to? I did reinstalled t...

Re: I cannot record? What am i doing wrong?
Topic moved to the Windows > audacity 1.3.x forum. When you try to record the guitar, do you get a flat blue line like this: firsttrack000.png If you do, try selecting a section in the middle of the track and apply the Normalize effect using "Normalize to: 0 dB". Does the selection remain ...

Re: input device selection
so I plugged in the INPort USB connection and opened Audacity. The order that you do that in is important. Audacity will not see the USB device unless the USB device is connected to the computer and recognised by the operating system before you start Audacity. If you forget to do that, then you can...

Re: Hotkey to use microphone?
No it doesn't, but I don't really understand why you need one - can't you just keep quiet when you want nothing recorded?
