Re: What does a Ring Modulator do?
Phew, that took some effort.... Commercial applications of balanced modulation use sine waves and heavy post filtering to get the desired signal and peel off the junk. That's what I was trying to do - 1) Build the square wave wavetable by additive synthesis (so that the square wave is bandwidth limi...

Re: Normalising Audio levels
It's much better to fix the source of problems like this rather than try to patch up the damage after it has occurred. What sort of microphone are you using? If it's a headset mic you need to adjust it so that the microphone is close to the corner of your mouth (so that you don't blow directly onto ...

Which version of Audacity are you using? (look in "Help > About Audacity" and tell us the full version number).

Re: 1 Channel Seems To Be Higher Than The Other.....
Your overall recording level is way too high. How is the Ecler Nuo 5 connected to the computer? You need to lower the record level so that the maximum peaks are about half of the track height. When you've done that (or ask if you need help doing that) please post a new screenshot. Screenshots can be...

Re: Cassette tapes into iTunes via Audacity 1.3.3 Beta
I wish I had your knowledge :) My knowledge of Audacity has mostly come from reading the manual and then trying out the things that I read. (also, looking things up to try and answer other peoples questions, and then just general experience from using the program). On the top right of Audacity 1.3....

I don't know what you mean. Could you post a screen shot of that?ShuriiX wrote:nothing even shows up on the little mixing tab next to it.
Did you try "Amplifying" the flat line?

:D Were you waving arms at the same time? you can get magic results when the two signals are close to each other. You can also get magic results (but bad ones) if any of the frequencies get too high. If they do then the Nyquist frequency joins the party and all sorts of extra frequencies start poppi...

Re: special effects
You might like to first try this "Easy Vocoder" effect: http://forum.audacityteam.org/download/file.php?id=3421 If that does not produce the effect that you want, instructions for the other vocoder are here: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Effect_Menu#vocoder As you currently have a mon...

Re: Recording sound through Maya 44 USB driver to Audiocity
This could be the crucial part. What other options do you have?nkichi wrote:Is the "AudioDevice on USB Bus" the correct input driver???
Note that the options may change depending on what you have selected as the "Host".
