Re: 1 Channel Seems To Be Higher Than The Other.....
Congratulations - got there in the end :D While you are recording, a peak level of around -6 dB is ideal. In the days of tape recording it was important to push the recording level as high as possible because the "noise floor" of tape was relatively high, but not so with digital recording....

Re: How do I add reverb with GVerb?
There are a lot of alternative reverbs available for Audacity 1.3.13. I'd highly recommend upgrading: http://audacityteam.org/download/

Re: Append Import
I don't yet know what "the limit" is for the number of files, but on a modern computer with plenty of RAM it should be able to handle a lot. I'll need to do some stress testing. I agree that the lack of a file browser is a major weakness - now that would be a nice enhancement for Audacity ...

Re: Audacity recording / Ustream recording very slow!!
The settings are dead easy to change once you find them. The hard part is finding them. The necessary sequence is something like: Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound > Recording tab, then right click on the device and select Properties > Advanced tab. This may help: http://wiki.audaci...

Re: 1 Channel Seems To Be Higher Than The Other.....
If that is as it is recorded, then the recording level is still too high. You need to be able to see clear daylight between the top bottom of the blue waveform and the top/bottom of the track. If you look at the Green meter bar near the top, those two little red marks are "clipping indicators&q...

Re: Problems with bass recording...
No it's the first time I worked with Audacity on this laptop... If it worked previously on a different machine, then I would suspect that the device drivers are to blame. It would probably be worth checking the M-audio web site to see if there are updated drivers available for your FastTrack (it wo...

What is the actual file name?
Which version of Audacity are you using? (should be 1.3.13 - see in "Help > About Audacity" to check).

Re: What is the maximum MP3 filesize?
I don't think that there is a limit, but Audacity Projects over about 12 hours (mono) may fail. Loading extremely large MP3s will be very slow as Audacity needs to decode them to uncompressed audio data (that could be around 40 GB of data), write it to disk and calculate the waveform view. I'd sugge...

Re: Audacity recording / Ustream recording very slow!!
For modern computers you should use Audacity 1.3.13 rather than the old 1.2.6 version. http://audacityteam.org/download/ Audacity does not sit well with voip applications and may also have problems when Ustream is running. The problem (with Skype and some other voip applications) is that it takes ag...
