Re: Doesn't Recognise Behringer USB Link
The latest 1.3.x version of Audacity (1.3.13) should work with the Behringer Guitar Link UCG102. Older versions of 1.3.x may not. Audacity 1.3.13 can be obtained here: http://audacityteam.org/download/ Note that the Behringer instructions for installing the ASIO drivers state: 3. IMPORTANT NOTES: --...

Re: Poor sound recording
Could you post a short sample of one of these crackly recordings - it will help us to see/hear what we are dealing with. To create the sample, select 2 or 3 seconds of the crackly recording, then from the File menu use "Export Selection As WAV". To upload the exported file, see the "U...

Re: Recording on only one channel
It's a typo. In Mac, that's Audacity > Preferences > Devices. It's not under the Edit menu. Thanks Koz. As we're talking about a Mac I should have checked the manual  I thought there was a way to force the machine to record a two-track mono signal, but I can't find it now. On computers that a...

Re: Not Getting Stereo
That is a common "feature" of Windows 7. I don't think there's any alternative other than setting the recording level really low as you have already done.gerry wrote:My only remaining problem is that I have to record on a very low volume level (0.1) to avoid distortion

Re: Recording
I am now ready for the rest of the steps. So do you now have it installed? If so: 1) Open Audacity. 2) From the "Edit" menu at the top, select "Preferences". This will open the Audacity "preferences" window. 3) In the left hand column of the Preferences window, select ...

Re: Recording on only one channel
I think you probably have it set up correctly, but just in case I'll post a more detailed description: To open the Audacity preferences, Click on the "Edit" menu at the top of the main Audacity window, then select "Preferences" from the drop down menu. This will open up the Audac...

Please be aware that people that help out on this forum are all volunteers. Swearing at them is unlikely to encourage a helpful response. Also, replies may not be instant as people have other things to do with their time, such as eating, sleeping, going to work, having a life.... I got Audacity down...

Re: Not Getting Stereo
The USB device must be connected to the computer and recognised by your operating system (Windows) before you start Audacity.deDeurs wrote:My problem, and possibly also Gerry's, is that in both the Audacity and the Beta version, USB Audio Codec is not mentioned in the Preference choices.

Re: Quite the unique problem...
There's really no such thing as "an Audacity File". Audacity creates "Audacity Projects" which have two parts - the .AUP file and the data folder. See here: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Audacity_Projects
