I think that today my preferred solution for a Unitary Audacity Project is like "Export Compressed Copy of Project", but using WAV files rather than Ogg files.

To export a multi-channel sound file you need to go to:
"Edit menu > Preferences > Import/Export"
and select the option "Use Custom Mix".

The easy way:
  • Applications menu >Ubuntu Software Centre
  • Type Audacity into the search box.
  • Click on the Audacity icon
  • Click on the "Install" button.

Opening your project in Audacity 1.3.14 alpha on Ubuntu 10.10 Audacity reports 6 orphaned block files. I do not get any error when exporting as a WAV file. I have tried to reproduce the steps to create the file from the FreeSound sample and I do not get any errors. My version of libsndfile is 1.0.21...
