The first thing is to minimize the fish tank noise as much as possible and get your guitar sound as loud as possible. The greater the difference between the signal level and the nois...

Re: Export or Save in any supported format
Absolutely, but it gives an idea about how good 32-bit float is that you can drop the volume down by 80 dB and then boost it back almost perfectly.Gale Andrews wrote:Before people get too shocked, the damage is almost un-noticeable if you replace "-40" with "-5".

Read the page linked in my last post. You'll get nowhere 'till you do that.

Re: Recording settings through HDMI cable
I use VLC, indeed. How can I record Internet stream through it? Is there a guide on that? Its not something I do very often (and it's somewhat off topic for this forum). Re: feeling stupid!! need help installing AUDACITY on UNBUNT
One of the good things about Ubuntu is that it has a huge selection of free software available in its "repositories" (the on-line Ubuntu software resource). As long as you have a good internet connection (preferably broadband), most software that you are likely to want or need can be quick...

Re: Recording settings through HDMI cable
Only one can be enabled. Mint is based on Ubuntu, so what applies there, applies to Mint as well. Yes Mint is based on Ubuntu, but from my (very limited) experience with Mint it appears to make a lot more configuration decisions behind the scenes (which is great if it does what you want it to do). ...

Could you run the following command in a terminal window, then post the output:
Code: Select all
cat /proc/asound/cards
