Re: Stereo mix not working properly on 1.3.13

OK, don't change anything else, but (I guess the 2 RCA male plugs are connected to the turntable?) Swap around the two RCA plugs so that the left goes into the right and vice verse. Then make a test recording. What happens?

Re: Timing adjustments? syncing with timelines?

This would mean on a sloppy (say bass) track, one would have a dedicated track for every note to be shifted. You can probably do it with just two tracks - half the notes on one and half the notes on another. In Audacity 1.3.13, a track can hold many "audio clips". You can drag an audio cl...

Re: Timing adjustments? syncing with timelines?

I'm assuming that you are using Audacity 1.3.13 because Audacity 1.2.6 is not good at this sort of thing. say one bass note is off time and needs to be brought forward or back in time? If you mean "1 bass note that is part of an audio clip that contains many bass notes", then the first thi...

Re: Timing adjustments? syncing with timelines?

With Audacity 1.3.13, when two audio clips line up exactly there will be a gentle "snapping" and a yellow vertical line will appear where the snapping occurs. window000.png You can also create "Regular Interval Labels" (Analyze menu) and clips will "snap" with a yellow ...

Re: Recording from DAT

It's probably recorded too loud, or you are playing it through speakers/headphones that cannot handle that amount of bass. How tall is the waveform on the track compared to the track height? If it is touching the top or bottom of the track then you are recording too loud and that is causing distorti...

Re: Stereo mix not working properly on 1.3.13

I very much doubt that the cause of the problem is due to the updated version of Audacity, even though there is some circumstantial evidence suggesting that it is. What sort of leads/connectors/adaptors are you using to connect the turntable to your sound card? If you're not sure exactly what they a...
