Re: unwanted changes when changing pitch
"Change Pitch" and "Change Tempo" are "Time stretching" effects. Time stretching is difficult to do as it involves chopping the audio up into tiny little pieces, spacing them out according to the time stretch settings, then glueing them seamlessly back together again. T...

Re: Any Need To Install Latest Version
Audacity 1.3.13 has some important bug fixes so it's probably worth updating. (for details see here: http://audacityteam.org/download/features-1.3-a ) Assuming that you did an ordinary default installation of Audacity 1.3.12, just install Audacity 1.3.13 and it will install over the top of your 1.3....

Re: Problems recording a second track (multi-tracking)
Could you export a short sample as a WAV file, then upload it somewhere (such as sendspace.com) and post a link.
I'd like to take a look at the file in close-up detail, but compressed audio formats can hide some of the detail.

Re: Joint Stereo setting
You need to upgrade to Audacity 1.3.13 http://audacityteam.org/download/ Also you should be using a recent version of Lame. If you do not have a recent version of Lame for Audacity, remove or rename your current version of lame_enc.dll and get a new version from here: http://audacityteam.org/help/fa...

Re: Very muffled audio from concert recording; can it be fix
There's not a great deal that you can do to improve that. In fact I don't think that there's anything you can do to make a substantial improvement. Point-and-shoot cameras just don't have the capability of handling the extreme high sound levels from live rock concerts. The way that professional reco...

Re: Problems recording a second track (multi-tracking)
What is over exposure? I think that n1ggler means that you may be overloading the input of your sound card. The recording does indeed appear to be at rather a high level, but at this stage I don't think that is the problem. However it would be useful to eliminate that possibility. Could you try mak...

Re: Failure to load .aup files
It still refuses to open these files. Any error message? Do you have both the .AUP file and the _data folder? Have you moved or renamed either the .AUP file or the _data folder? Maybe you just cant edit mp3 aiff files in this software ? What does that have to do with your original questions? MP3 is...

1) See here: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Audacity_Projects 2) See here: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Audacity_Selection 3) I don't understand the question. If you "zoom in" on a shorter period of time, then of course you see a"zoomed in" section of whichever track(s)...

That's a very general question, to which I can't give more than a very general response.

Re: BWF riff tag Qs
first of all, your 44.1 16 bit wav is a BWF file, right? just a normal PCM file, right? Exported WAV files are "normal" WAV files (Microsoft PCM WAV). They are not BWF. Tags in WAV files are not "standard" - that is, the published standards for Microsoft PCM WAV format does not ...
