Re: multi track noise or hiss problem
it seems when i add bass boost,or increase volume on any track, it adds hiss. Increasing the volume of a track will increase the volume of all sounds on the track, whether it's the sound of a voice, an instrument, next doors TV, or background hiss. Bass boost should not add any hiss. If you increas...

Re: Can't get rid of Audacity as a start up program
It's been a really long time since I've used Win 98.
Have a look in the C:WindowsProgram FilesStartup folder.
Did you put Audacity, or a link to Audacity in there?

There's a page all about "choppy" recordings (and how to prevent them) here: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Manag ... nd_Drivers

Re: feeling stupid!! need help installing AUDACITY on UNBUNT
thinking of making the LINUX box available to the world through the DMZ in my router... or is that wise? This is going way off topic for the Audacity forum, but perhaps a few pointers. The firewall in a router can be a very useful tool as part of your network security. To run a server (and I presum...

Re: Any Need To Install Latest Version
I could try again, but don't want to muck things up if you know what I mean. Yes I quite understand. I doubt that there has been much testing of Audacity 1.3.13 on Win 98, so it's possible that there could be some oddball glitches. All things considered it may be best if you stick with the version ...
