1) Same 2) make a selection that spans the first snippet. 3) Trim the audio to the selection ("Edit > Remove audio > Trim", or just Ctrl+T ) 4) Same 5) Export as an MP3 If I extract a snippet that contains more than one song for example a Chick Corea snippet that has two songs. Between the...

Re: How do I pan stereo fields?
If you're really using Audacity 1.2 I'd highly recommend that you upgrade to Audacity 1.3.13. You can get it here: http://audacityteam.org/download/beta_windows There are several different plug-ins for making smooth panning effects http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Nyquist_Effect_Plug-ins You may li...

Re: Changing Pitch is bugged.
thanks, I'm using the 1.3.13 beta version You posted in the Audacity 1.2 part of the forum (your duplicate post was also in the Audacity 1.2 section). It's just that the field for "From" hz is bugged, it doesn't let me type anything there You appear to be correct. This is a known fault, b...

This is a very old thread.

If you require further assistance I suggest that you start a new thread as this one is way down in the basement

Re: Taming the Wild Voice Recording
A good case hardware compressor. I use a Behringer composer pro (relatively inexpensive and does the job nicely). Set the compressor threshold at the top of the "normal" voice level, then those voices will be essentially unprocessed. Set the ratio pretty high, but with a fairly soft knee s...

Re: (non Audacity) Post-processing trouble
Not really, though you could try applying a 20 or 30 Hz high pass filter as the first step in your processing. Sounds below 20 Hz cannot be played by most audio equipment.Shaky wrote:Does this give you any ideas?

Re: Changing Pitch is bugged.
There's several bugs in Audacity 1.2.x, but I'm not sure that this is one of them. Audacity 1.2.x is no longer being developed. The recommended version (unless you're on a really old machine) is Audacity 1.3.13. http://audacityteam.org/download/ (it doesn't explicitly say so, but I'd also recommend ...

Re: Finding Sections of Audio
MP3 format will blow it. As soon as you encode anything as an MP3 it is no longer bit perfect.
Do you have access to the original (pre-MP3 encoding) version?

Re: Additional Editing capabilities
Not yet, though there is currently a patch being tested that adds support for Nyquist Effects (which includes notch filters).DickN wrote:Can chains not invoke plug-ins?
Current testing is very positive.
