Re: Audacity 1.3 beta is not displaying bluecat stereo choru

I have an "audacity" folder That's your old Audacity 1.2.x folder. If you no longer use Audacity 1.2.x you can delete that folder You may want to see if Audacity 1.2.x is listed in "Add Remove Programs" and if it is, un-install it before you delete the folder. If it's not listed...

Re: sound editing / Audacity: Edit a finished spoken podcast

I'd agree with all the points that waxcylinder made, but also, do you really need to use a compressor? If so, why? (the reason why you need to use one, if in fact you do, has an influence on which compressor and what settings will be most appropriate).

Re: Why are my bass tones getting a high distortion?

I can see (and hear) that you're overloading something , but without checking the levels on everything I can't tell what you're overloading. From your first sample, at time = 2:13.1780 The flat top on that peak is typical of "clipping" distortion due to something being overloaded. firsttra...

Re: Placement of multiple files in a single track

Append Record:

1) Click the "Record button" and record something
2) Click the "Stop Button" to stop the recording
3) Hold down the "Shift" key and click the "Record Button".

You see how the recording continues on the end of the first bit of recording?
