You need to add "reverb".
Audacity 1.3.13 includes a reverb effect called GVerb.

It's the same version for both Vista and Win 7: Audacity 1.3.13 (Unicode). Go to this page: http://audacityteam.org/download/beta_windows Find the "Recommended Download" called Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7: Audacity 1.3.13 installer (.exe file, 13.8 MB) Also worth reading the linked page: See f...

Re: How do I add silence to the beginning of a *.wav file?
The simplest solution would be to use a better audio player - one that doesn't chop off the start of the file (I use Foobar2000 on Windows - it can play virtually any type of audio file, it opens quickly, is light on computer resources, can convert between different formats, and is free). However, t...

Re: Why are my bass tones getting a high distortion?
That may not be quite the right kind of compressor, but there's no harm in experimenting with it - you may get a unique sound that you really like. A lot of this is about getting to know intimately the equipment that you use. (I've just spent the last 3 hours with a manual, tweaking the settings of ...

Re: Turn off click track, help me!
Audacity does not have a "metronome".
A "Click Track" in Audacity is an "audio track" that you can generate from the "Generate" menu and it looks like this:

Re: Lame sur AUDACITY
For reliable operation you should use Lame that has been built specifically for Audacity.
You can download the ZIP version of Lame from here: http://lame.buanzo.com.ar/
then extract the contents of the zip file into your Audacity program folder.
Audacity should then detect Lame automatically.

Re: no sound
I have chosen "line-in" as the recording device and "Speakers 2 usb Audio CODEC" as the playback device. "Line in" is an input on your normal computer sound card. "Speakers 2 usb Audio CODEC" is your USB speakers. There is no direct connection between the two...

Re: Graphic EQ sliders
"There are several tricks to get to an exact slider value. Clicking above or below the slider makes it jump by 8 dB then 4 dB increments." This does not appear to happen on any platform, but the exact behaviour is platform dependent, so how about just leaving that line out? "Holding ...

Re: Why are my bass tones getting a high distortion?
As you're discovering, running through a chain of effects is not as simple as it may appear. SM58s are difficult to overload, but it is possible. One of the characteristics of an SM58 is that they tend to be very forgiving. If they do overload, they tend to compress the sound rather than rattling. B...
