Re: Really fast (50x) playback speed possible?
2. If I resample and change speed, my time offsets within the file change. I'm marking events using labels, exporting the labels as a csv, then importing the labels into excel. I'd like the time offsets to be in real hours, minutes and seconds. Another thought - if you know how much you have speede...

Re: Really fast (50x) playback speed possible?
Should I think about modifying the transcription toolbar and playback speed code? That's one of the beauties of open source software. If you know a bit about programming you're free to modify it to suit your own requirements. Unfortunately I don't think that I'll be able to help with that as I'm no...

Re: Really fast (50x) playback speed possible?
You know that you can click on the time line (above the audio track) and playback will immediately start from the position that you click? You know that you can zoom out so that the entire waveform fits in the Audacity window so that you can see all of it at once? If you have a wheel mouse, Ctrl+mou...

Re: how do i connect my mic to audacity so i can record?
You need to: Import the music track into Audacity. Set "Overdub" on (enabled) in the Transport menu. Plug your headphones into the microphone. Set the recording and playback devices in Audacity to the USB options. You should then be able to hear both your voice and the music in your headph...

Re: Really fast (50x) playback speed possible?
I see. No Audacity can't do that.
What's the difference between "something interesting" in the recording and the rest of the recording?
Is it anything that will show up on either the waveform or the Spectrogram?

Re: Multichannel Recording on Audactity 1.3.13
Could you look in the Audacity "Help menu > About Audacity" and check the full version number. Is it "Audacity 1.3.13 Unicode"?
Which version of Windows?

Re: How do I add silence to the beginning of a *.wav file?
What is the Home button (what does it look like?) http://thumbs.dreamstime.com/thumb_286/1215358510Yn79AE.jpg There are 6 places in the Generate Silence choice box. What are the units? By default they are "seconds" (as it says). If you click on the little black triangle just to the right ...

Re: difference between 1.2 and 1.3
All development work on the 1.2.x series ended several years ago. It can still be useful for people with really ancient machines running Win 98. All development work since then has been on the 1.3.x series. It still retains the simple user interface, but has much better tools under the bonnet. It'll...
