Re: What sounds like phase modulation...
going into the mic input on my laptop not good :( Mic inputs on typical PC laptops are generally low quality. A mic signal is about 1000x lower than "line level" so there's also a big mismatch, and mic inputs are often mono. Also, Windows often has "enhancements" enabled by defa...

If you want to play the MP3 you could try VLC http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
(it's a free player that can play most things).

Re: Editing: turning off snap default
Audacity 1.2 is really old and lacks a lot of features that are available in 1.3.13 http://audacityteam.org/download/beta_windows
In Audacity 1.3.13 you can use:
Edit > Remove Audio > Split Cut
or
Edit > Remove Audio > Split Delete
shortcuts are:
Alt+Ctrl+X
and
Alt+Ctrl+K
respectively.

Re: delay
You'll need to be more descriptive.
How are you recording?
What equipment are you using?
Which version of Windows?
What exactly are you doing?
At what stage are they "not in sync"?

If there are any background noises, listen to them carefully for any discontinuities. Also, vertical line ...

Re: Exporting to MP3 without certain tracks
as a stereo track comes up upon recording I took the drop down box option to turn the stereo track to mono. As stated the recording only comes out on one channel otherwise Let's deal with that first. In the Device Toolbar , set the number of "Input Channels" to "1 (mono)". I've ...

Topic split - there are several significant differences between your issue BuzzP and the issue in the previous topic, so it's simpler to deal with your issue separately. What settings do you have in the Device Toolbar ? How is your turntable connected to the computer? Are you still able to make reas...

Re: New plug-in effect - PopMute
Thanks for all your testing Dick. Unless I've made any typos this should be the final version. A few minor changes: Help screen added Error checking added to avoid invalid user input The minimum time slider values is now 1 millisecond as going below 1 ms is not really useful (in most cases it will c...
