Re: Recording For Best Quality CD
TAO is usually the default in CD burning software as not all optical drives support DAO. The drives in Toshiba laptops frequently do not support DAO (or CD text). As far as I'm aware, if the drive does not support DAO then there is no way to create a gapless CD with multiple tracks. If there IS a wa...

Re: timelines on each track
You could put a label track under (or above) each track. http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Label_Tracks If you're using Audacity 1.2, I'd highly recommend upgrading to Audacity 1.3.13. If you can give more information about what you are doing we may be able to suggest additional tools/techniques to...

Re: Importing AC3 files
Decoding multichannel AC3 is a real headache, hence the aptly named program called "headach3".

Re: Recording with looped track
How many times do you want it to loop? 30, 40, 50, 100?
With the loop in Audacity, select it, then from the Effect menu click on "Repeat".
Type in more-than-enough repeats (you can delete any excess later).

Piano music on its own - note the vertical scale range -96 dB to -23 dB Frequency Analysis_002.png Piano music and -6 dB white noise. Note the vertical scale range -42 dB to -23 dB. The noise floor across the full spectrum is around -42 dB for each frequency band, so the display has re-scaled and sh...

Re: Microphone Audio Levels
A Shure SM 58 is a mono microphone. The vast majority of recording is done with mono microphones, both in home recordings and in professional studios. What are you recording? We don't know why you want or need a stereo microphone. The best choice of microphone depends on what you want to record and ...

Re: Russian Interface
Audacity 1.2 asks which language you want during the installation. I'm guessing that since you asked this question you are wanting to know about Audacity 1.3.x, (even though you've posted in the Audacity 1.2.x part of the forum). Audacity 1.3 uses the system language by default. To change the langua...

Re: Podcast Setup - Mixers
You might be surprised how often TV interviewers are filmed asking questions and nodding with interest after the interview has finished. Very often the interviewee is filmed in one continuous take, then the interviewer is filmed by the same cameraman and the two are then spliced together in the righ...
