Re: Odd behaviours on joining and splitting stereo tracks
"Mix and Render" is completely different from just sticking the tracks one on top of the other. "Mix and Render" processes all selected tracks, applies gain level, pan position and envelope settings and mixes them down into a single track. "Make Stereo Track" just "...

Re: Project file backwards compatibility with 1.2.x series
Audacity 1.3 has many additional abilities beyond what Audacity 1.2 could do. Some of these require additional information to be stored in AUP file. Consequently Audacity 1.2 does not understand Audacity 1.3 projects. There's a couple of possible solutions. 1) You can Export each track in the projec...

Re: Log? what is this errors?
I'm not sure about the first line, but the rest of it is Audacity trying to find FFMpeg but not finding it. FFMpeg is an optional add-on for Audacity that provides support for importing and exporting many different audio formats. If you want to install FFMpeg, see here: http://manual.audacityteam.or...

Re: No playback sound while monitoring
What are you recording and how are you recording it? (for example, "I'm recording an acoustic guitar using a Logitec USB desktop microphone").

Re: Audacity 1.3 Beta (Unicode) altering sample format rando
Audacity itself says that the file is 32-bit when I reopen the file, even though it was exported as 16-bit I understand the confusion, but it's not quite what it seems. 32-bit float format is an excellent format for editing and processing audio. It allows processing to be done with extreme precisio...

Re: 1.3.13 Manual, Only HTML, No PDF?
There are still changes being made to the manual as the final touches are being made to Audacity 1.3.x beta prior to the release of Audacity 2.0. I would not expect a pdf version to be produced before Audacity 2.0 is released. The Recommended Download for Audacity 1.3.x for Mac OS X should include t...

Re: Odd behaviours on joining and splitting stereo tracks
Why not set the Mute/Solo/Volume/Pan controls at the vertical center of the two channels? Currently the Track Control Panel scrolls up from the bottom. With that arrangement it would only be possible to get about 2 tracks on screen before the controls disappear, unless the TCP was able to scroll fr...

Re: How to remove very short bouts of silence successfully?
If you are only referring to the first mp3 of a rip of an entire cd, then thats not a problem at all, but if you referring to the start of every ripped mp3 I'm referring to every MP3 file . I am wondering how Windows Media Player is able to play some albums (ripped to mp3) without any gap of silenc...
