Re: DVD audio to CD

Audacity 1.2 may not be able to deal with these jobs. Audacity 1.2 will not be able to deal with these jobs. To decode the audio from a DVD with Audacity you will need to install FFMpeg, and this is only supported by Audacity 1.3 (1.3.13 is recommended). If the DVDs are home made, then you should b...

Re: MP3 Distortion

MP3 is a "lossy" format. When audio is encoded as MP3 there is a small but non-recoverable loss of sound quality as some of the audio data is discarded during the encoding. The losses can be minimised by encoding with a high bit-rate, but there will always be some loss of sound quality. Se...

Re: music not recording on track

I was recording and burning for a couple of days... And it was all working correctly? What exactly was your set-up when you did that? It's still quite early days for the Noise Coring effect. Currently there are 4 controls, two of which set the &...

Re: Mono Recording from Sound Card - 50% clipping

It looks like a driver problem to me. That site is broadcasting in mono, so when recording as a stereo track in Audacity, you should have identical left and right channels (both like the left channel in your picture). When recording as mono you should get a single channel (the same as the left chann...

Re: Too much treble : equalization doesn't helps...

Could you post a screenshot of the spectrum (Analyze > Plot Spectrum), or alternatively, add a short sample (just a couple of seconds) as a WAV file to your reply. Files (less than 1 MB) can be attached to your post (see "Upload Attachment" below the compose message box).

I don't think that particular question is in the FAQ (though about 9 out of 10 questions asked here are, hence my signature ;)).

Cool :)
How far have you got with it?
Perhaps we could make a siren generator plug-in.
