Re: Special kind of frequency sweep (chirp)?

Eeh, a siren generator plug in would take the fun out of it. I agree that just downloading, or buying a plug-in generator would take the fun out of it, but what I was suggesting is making a plug-in generator (I'd find that fun anyway ;) ) By the way, the NyQuist code you provided turns any type of ...

Re: Selection tool error

Near the bottom of the main Audacity screen - look for "Snap To" and de-select it.

Re: Crackling when listening to audio after recording

Has the hard drive been defragmented lately? If not, then doing so may help. Also check that there is plenty of free disk space (if Audacity is having to hunt around for space to write the audio data then that can cause small gaps in the audio that can sound like crackling, or in the worst case ther...

Re: Line in & Mic

The way to do live commentary is as you have said - use a second computer. As you've not said what operating system you are using, I'm guessing that you're using some version of Windows? If you use Linux, you could use the Jack audio system and play the gameplay through "Pulse Audio Jack Sink&q...

Re: put audio jingle to my site

Let's leave out the advertisement and get to the problem.
"it always crashes"
What always crashes?

"It still goes find"
What does that mean?

"anyone has the solutions for such problems?"

Re: Low Audio from X1204USB USB Mixer

With most mixers it is necessary to first set the channel "gain" level (PFL), then set the mix level by using the channel sliders and the main mix slider(s). The Mix level should be up near the top of the green to get a good strong output level for recording.

Re: Fade-out shortcut

For you it's "Fade In" and "Fade Out", for someone else it may be "Amplify" or "Normalize" or "Noise Removal"... I think what we really need is a way to manage effects (any effects) so that users can quickly access those that they use regularly. Idea...

Re: Line in & Mic

Your computer has only one sound system, so the "trick" is to record one thing at a time.
Record the TV thing first, then record your commentary after (as a new Audacity track).

Re: Automatic Playback

The short answer is "no, Audacity can't do that".
If you're after a cheap alternative to a Boss Loop Station, perhaps Superlooper will fit the bill.

Re: How to best send Audacity files as attachments

Are you sending them so that your friend can continue working on them, or just so that your friend can hear them?
If it is just so that your friend can listen to what you've been making, then Export as either MP3 or OGG, and send the exported file.
