Re: Vocals Removal results in complete silence

This vocal removal technique removes all sound that is panned dead centre in the stereo mix (the usual pan position for the lead vocal). It removes everything that is panned dead centre, so if you have a stereo track and say the lead vocal and the kick drum are panned dead centre, then both the lead...

Re: -6db Clipping

I believe I found the solution. Right mouse click on the Windows 7 Sound icon in the tray of the lower right of the screen. Select "Recording devices" Select UA-25EX. Click properties button. Select Levels tab. Move the slider to 100%. Now it clips at 0 db. Thanks very much for getting ba...

Re: PLZ HELP MEEEE!!

The .AUP file is only part of an Audacity project. The .AUP file contains instructions for Audacity but does not contain any audio data.
See here for a full explanation: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Audacity_Projects

Probably the best solution would be to ask your friend to send you an MP3.

Re: Playing a track with the arrow keys

It is quite an old computer XP 2002 service pack 2 and only 1G of RAM! Audacity 1.3.13 should run fine on that. (I have Audacity 1.3.13 running on an old XP machine with similar specs.) Audacity does not have "scrub play" (Drag cursor back and forth across a particular point and hear the ...

Re: se2200a questions and concerns

“The PPM Series provide +15V DC phantom powering on pins….” That is very strange. It clearly says 48v phantom on their web site: http://www.mackie.com/products/ppmseries/splash.html If the desk really does only push out 15v then that is probably the reason for the problem as the sE2200a specifies: ...

Re: Export with external encoder examples.

In the Export dialogue screen, (where you select the export format), select "other uncompressed files" as the file type, then click on the "Options" button.
Select "WAV (Microsoft)" as the Header, and "Signed 24 bit PCM" as the Encoding.

Re: I had an older ver but I am looking at 1.3 with question

I want to know why in downloading 1.3 version beta version for Mac os X 10.6. They insist that Rosetta be downloaded too, Why? What is Rosetta? I've no idea. "Rosetta" has nothing to do with Audacity. I would highly recommend downloading Audacity 1.3.13 from the official source page, whic...

Re: How to install?

The first time I also got Audacity_737.exe and AVSaudioeditor.exe "Audacity_737.exe" is probably a virus or some other malware. I would recommend that you delete that file, then empty the recycle bin, then ensure that your antivirus program is fully updated and do a full scan of your comp...
