I presume that you installed Audacity through the Ubuntu Software Centre?

You could also select one word at a time and use the Reverse effect, which will produce something like this:

Look in "Help > About Audacity"
It will say "Audacity 1.3.x (Unicode)". What is the "x" number?

For Windows 7 you should be using Audacity 1.3.13 and not Audacity 1.2.x
